Come closer....closer...NO...too close!
We're just four lonely college guys looking for a little....Arabic knowledge. Unfortunately, Islamic University of Medina and Umm-ul-Qura in Makkah did not respond so we're stuck here in Egypt at the Arabic Language Institute at the American University of Cairo. Everyone here tries to take advantage of foreigners... chargin money for personally delivered toilet paper, taxi drivers triple-quadruple charging when they hear a hint of a foreign accent, and worst of all NO FREE REFILLS... hence the name... E-Gypped. Seriously though, Egypt is a nice place. The food is cheap, yet delicious, and the people we've come to know are super nice. Masajid are everywhere (1 Million in all of Cairo) and the azhan rings out from all directions at prayer time.
We made this site to document our adventures, and to give y'all at home a little
taste of our life here. So, sit back and enjoy the ride...
